<div>I met Deborah some years ago in a writing workshop, and we bonded over having some of the same chronic illnesses. Through the years, Deborah has been a true friend, and I’ve witnessed their kind, thoughtful parenting of their two children they have shared custody of.

<div><strong>Deborah is now in a desperate situation, in urgent need of immediate housing</strong>. Their living situation, with an ex-partner, is volatile and ending. Their disabilities prevent them from being able to work or fully care for themself, and make it much more dangerous for them to be unhoused.

<div>Deborah risks losing shared custody of their children, without shelter to carry out their parenting obligations. They will also not be able to receive caregivers without a residence.
