In 2018 I discovered mountaineering, and instantly knew I had found my path. Since then, I have dedicated my life to the mountains: nearly 50 different 4,000m-peaks in the Alps, Ama Dablam (6,812 m) in 2023, and finally Aconcagua (6,962 m) this past January, the highest peak in the Americas and one of the Seven Summits. On every summit, I proudly raised the Bieler flag, always higher.

During my ascent of AmaDablam, I unexpectedly crossed paths with Inoxtag and his team. That improbable encounter led me to appear in his documentary Kaizen as “the Swiss guy of Ama Dablam.” Since then, many people have reached out, telling me they felt connected to my journey and my energy.

Today, a new chapter begins. In 25 days, I will set off for Annapurna IV (7,525 m), a remote and rarely climbed peak, with about 138 ascents since 1955. For me, it will be the final test at 7,500 m without oxygen, before crossing the 8,000 m mark next year.

Last May, with courage and a hint of audacity, I approached Sophie Lavaud, the first Swiss woman and first French to complete all 14×8000, and asked if I could join her expedition as part of the “Honor the Pioneers” project, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the first ascent of Annapurna I. To my great surprise, she said yes.

I will now have the chance to climb with Sophie Lavaud, Dawa Sangay, and my Ama Dablam partner Nga Wang Thindu, an exceptional team.

A “small-town Biel mountaineer” alongside the world’s Himalayan elite, both a dream and a decisive step toward my ultimate goal, climbing all 14×8000 without supplemental oxygen.

But such an expedition has a cost, around CHF 18,000 all included (permits, logistics, flights, equipment, insurance, staff, accommodation, food).

Even though this passion is my driving force, it requires rigorous planning: specific equipment, travel costs, permits, and specialized rescue insurance make the financial burden heavy.

I cover part of this budget myself, but outside support is indispensable.

Every franc makes a difference, one more stone laid on the path to the summit.

And if you can’t contribute financially, sharing this link is already a massive help.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support, big or small, is an integral part of this adventure, and helps me take one step closer to the final stage of my dream.

How much does it really cost to climb a 7,000 m+ peak like Annapurna IV (7,525 m)? Here are the different expenses to consider when preparing for this 6-week expedition in Nepal:

•	Vols internationaux CHF 1500 : Vols Zürich- Katmandu avec 40kg de bagages.

• International flights CHF 1,500: Zurich–Kathmandu flights with 40 kg of luggage included.

• Expedition agency CHF 8,000: Once again we will be supported by the agency “Seven Summit Treks.” These costs cover domestic transportation, food, climbing permits, logistics, accommodation, base camp staff, and transport.

• Equipment CHF 5,000: Climbing a peak close to 8,000 m requires highly technical gear adapted to extreme cold and expedition life, which I will be able to reuse for future climbs beyond 8,000 m. Expedition boots alone cost CHF 1,200. A -40°C sleeping bag for sleeping at extreme altitude costs CHF 850.

• Administrative CHF 1,000: Costs for the Nepalese visa and the mandatory high-altitude rescue insurance (Global Rescue), which specializes in mountain expeditions.

• Tips CHF 1,500: In Nepal it is customary (and mandatory) to give tips to the base camp staff, as well as a “summit bonus” to the sherpa who accompanies you in case of a successful summit.

• Miscellaneous CHF 1,000: A reserve for items such as GPS tracking service subscriptions, navigation instruments, meals in Kathmandu, roaming fees, etc.

TOTAL : CHF 18'000

Hallo!
