Mi nombre es Verónica, mamá de Pablo, un niño precioso de 5 años que nació con pie equinovaro unilateral derecho; una malformación congénita que afecta a 1 de 1000 niños. 

Esta patología se trata con el método Ponseti, que consiste en una serie de yesos, una tenotomía percutánea del tendón de Aquiles y luego llevar unas férulas donde tiene los pies atados una serie de horas al día hasta los 5 años. Tuvimos una mala experiencia en su hospital de Referencia, yesos mal colocados, daños importantes en la piel, tenotomía mal realizada, eso nos hizo acudir por lo privado a Barcelona donde encontramos al mejor equipo que trata esta condición, repetimos tratamiento y hoy mi hijo camina, pero llegó la temida recidiva, al quitar la férula a los 5 años, existe la posibilidad de un 15% de que el pie busque la posición original, nos tocó, y ahora Pablo tiene que ser operado, su piecito se está torciendo, se tropieza al correr afectando su calidad de vida. También necesitamos el traslado en avión y hospedaje, por lo que todo suma.
