<div>Para los que no me conocen, soy Fernando Cortes Lestrade y vengo a pedir de su apoyo. Soy un hombre de 32 años que fue diagnosticado con autismo a la edad de 3 años. Desde entonces la vida ha sido un conjunto de eventos muy bonitos y retadores, como haber terminado la primaria, secundaria, prepa y la carrera en gastronomía, el nacimiento de mis hermanos pequeños, viajes, trabajo e incluso, tener mi propio negocio. Sin embargo, la vida también me ha hecho enfrentar cosas complicadas, y una de ellas es por la que vengo a pedirles ayuda el día de hoy.

<div>Hace dos meses, comencé a tener problemas de salud y los doctores no sabían por qué. El 5 de mayo fue mi primera convulsión y desde ahí han sido más y con mayor intensidad, al grado de terminar internado en el hospital sin tener conciencia de mis alrededores. Después de unas largas semanas, el diagnóstico oficial es epilepsia causada por lesiones en el cerebro, además de mi condición autista.

<div>Es muy triste saber que ninguna aseguradora me ha querido brindar el servicio por mi condición, y en el seguro social no me quisieron atender. Todo esto generó que tuviera que internarme en hospital particular para poder tratar mis convulsiones, pero todo los estudios que se tuvieron que realizar (la mayoría neurológicos) son muy caros.

<div>Ya contándoles un poco de las razones por las que abrimos esta recaudación de fondos, quiero decirles que entiendo que la situación económica de todos es complicada, y que el dinero es lo que menos tenemos para regalar. Sin embargo, cualquier donativo o palabras de aliento nos servirán para este largo camino que aún nos queda por recorrer.

<div>Hello everyone! For those who don’t know me, my name is Fernando Cortes Lestrade and I’m reaching out to ask for your support. I’m a 32-year-old man who was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3. Since then, life has been a mix of beautiful and challenging events—finishing elementary, middle, and high school, completing a degree in gastronomy, the birth of my younger siblings, traveling, working, and even starting my own business.

<div>Two months ago, I began experiencing health issues, and doctors couldn’t figure out the cause. On May 5th, I had my first seizure, and since then they have become more frequent and intense—to the point where I ended up hospitalized without being aware of my surroundings. After several long weeks, I received an official diagnosis: epilepsy caused by brain lesions, in addition to my autism.

<div>It’s very disheartening to know that no insurance company has been willing to provide coverage due to my condition, and the public healthcare system refused to treat me. As a result, I had to be hospitalized in a private clinic to manage the seizures, but all the tests that needed to be done—most of them neurological—are very expensive.

<div>Now that you know a bit more about why we’ve launched this fundraiser, I want to say that I understand everyone’s financial situation is tough and that money is the last thing we have to spare. However, any donation or words of encouragement will help us on this long road ahead.
