<div>We are Said Coba, Jorge Jaramillo, and Johann Jadán, three cooks who came to California on a J-1 visa to pursue the dream that brought us here: becoming the best chefs we can be.

<div>This year has shaped us in countless ways. We have grown, learned, and pushed ourselves every day. It has only been the beginning of our journey.

<div>Unfortunately, a few days ago our home caught fire. The cause is still under investigation. Thanks to the brave firefighters of Santa Barbara, the fire was extinguished, and most importantly — we are safe. None of us were inside when it happened.

<div>But the loss was total.

</div>

<div>We lost all our important documents, electronics, work tools, clothing, groceries, gifts for our families, and every personal belonging we worked so hard to earn during these months in California.

</div>

<div>Despite this tragedy, our spirit and our dreams remain intact. Losing everything material reminded us of what truly matters: the people we’ve met, the community that welcomed us, and the passion that brought us here.

</div>

<div>Today, from a vulnerable but hopeful place, we ask for your support to help us start again from zero — to rebuild our lives so we can continue learning, growing, and fighting for the dream that brought us to this country.

<div>Tres cocineros, un sueño — y un incendio que no logró apagarlo.

<div>Somos Said Coba, Jorge Jaramillo y Johann Jadán, tres cocineros que vinimos a California con una visa J-1 persiguiendo un sueño: convertirnos en los mejores chefs que podamos llegar a ser.

<div>Este año nos ha transformado profundamente. Hemos crecido, aprendido y trabajado con dedicación cada día. Este era solo el inicio de nuestro camino.

<div>Lamentablemente, hace unos días nuestra casa se incendió. Aún se investiga qué causó el fuego. Gracias a los valientes bomberos de Santa Bárbara, el incendio fue controlado y —lo más importante— estamos a salvo. Ninguno de nosotros estaba dentro en ese momento.

<div>Pero la pérdida fue total.

</div>

<div>Perdimos nuestros documentos, electrónicos, herramientas de trabajo, ropa, víveres, regalos para nuestras familias y todas las pertenencias personales que hemos adquirido con tanto esfuerzo durante estos meses en California.

<div>A pesar de esta tragedia, nuestros sueños siguen vivos. Perder lo material nos recordó lo verdaderamente valioso: la comunidad, las personas que hemos conocido y la pasión que nos trajo hasta aquí.
