<div>Update from Skye: 6/23/25
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We’re now two weeks out from the fire. Waiting to hear from insurance as to what the next steps are, the waiting game is brutal and everyone would much rather just get to work.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The cause of the fire was determined to be a wire behind the light switch in the storage room, a freak occurrence and an accident no one predicted.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Met with employees today, to discuss options through our community, job placement, health care and state assistance these discussions were primarily to understand everyone's needs while this process makes its way to completion. 13 employees have been affected and your donations here will help cover rent payments for this next month for those who though no fault of their own lost their jobs so suddenly.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you can donate please do, if you know of other public or private resources which may help please email , if you can share PLEASE SHARE.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you, love you, can’t wait to get back to doing what we love and serving this community.

<div>Update from Skye: 6/12/25
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It's been a few days. Thank you to everyone for the amazing support. The kids and I are feeling optimistic, although sad for the absolute turn our lives have taken in such a short time. We poured our hearts into this special place and have woken up in the mornings since the fire looking at each other - like what do we do now?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Insurance is getting in there today, and after their assessment, we'll have a better idea of what the timing looks like for reopening.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Until then, we are brainstorming ideas, outdoor patio events, maybe a food truck (if anyone knows of one, please let me know).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you to everyone who has reached out. This community is so completely amazing. We feel supported and loved, and can't wait to get back to hosting everyone at the Lone Cone.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Love you all.

<div>Original Post:

</div>
<div>No one could have anticipated the devastating events that unfolded early this morning in Norwood.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A fire broke out at our beloved historic bar and restaurant, <strong>The Lone Cone Saloon</strong>— known as “The Cone.” This place is more than just a local business; it’s a cornerstone of our community, a gathering place, and a labor of love for Skye and her family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>They have poured their hearts into this business, working day and night to keep it alive—not just for her family, but for all of us who consider the Cone a second home. Now, in the wake of this heartbreaking fire, she and her six children are facing unimaginable uncertainty.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While insurance will help cover the damage to the building, the immediate reality is difficult. The business was the sole source of income for Skye’s family. Vendors and employees are owed, and without incoming revenue, the financial strain is overwhelming.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the state Fire Marshal, with early signs pointing to an electrical short in the mechanical room—but that will be determined by experts in due time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>What we do know right now is: they need our help.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you are able to contribute, any donation—big or small—will make a huge difference. Let’s come together as a community to support Skye, the employees, and help bring back the Lone Cone Saloon.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In true Skye style, the family plans to make the best of it &amp; hopes to start a pop-up restaurant and friend-raisers to get our team back to work &amp; continue to serve the community we love. Stay tuned for updates.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and support.
