<div>This isn’t fiction. This is every day in Makonka — a rural corner of Zambia where over 50,000 people live without a functioning health clinic.

<div>This is Zambia’s forgotten frontline.

<div>If someone is injured in the night, they walk for hours — often carrying their loved one on their back.

<div>If labour begins under moonlight, the outcome is left to chance.

<div>Today, the only health post in Makonka has: One nurse. One broken bed. No electricity. No running water aside from a cattle borehole. No medicine or supplies

<div>It is a shell. But it could be a sanctuary.

<div>They tried to fix it themselves. Since 2007, the community has done everything in their power to finish their clinic.

<div>They dug the latrines. They built the walls. They raised what they could.

<div>But year after year, they were left behind. No budget. No recognition. No future.
