<div>My name is Carlos Ortega Amorin, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a hopeful vision. On January 8th of this year, I lost my beloved mother to suicide — a tragedy that changed me forever and sparked a deep commitment to make a difference in our community.

<div>In her honor, I founded the <strong>Te Amo Foundation</strong>, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and providing healing spaces for those who are struggling. The name Te Amo carries profound meaning. It’s not just an expression of love — it’s a tribute to my mother herself: (<em>Te</em>) for <strong>Teresita</strong> and (<em>Amo</em>) for <strong>Amorín</strong>. Through this foundation, her legacy of love continues to guide everything we do.

<div>We believe in creating safe, inclusive spaces where people can share their stories, access mental health resources, and feel deeply supported. Our goal is to normalize conversations around mental health, reduce stigma, and offer free wellness programming that can quite literally save lives.

<div>Led by licensed professionals, we are building in-person groups for mothers, young adults, and individuals navigating suicide ideation and mental health challenges.

<div>We are in the process of becoming a 501(c)(3). Donations help cover filing costs, insurance, and other compliance needs to operate sustainably.
