Driven by fierce Santa Ana winds, the fire's containment has been a daunting challenge, leading to evacuations and the loss of historic landmarks like the Topanga Ranch Motel. This GoFundMe campaign is dedicated to supporting the community, the Topanga Coalition for Emergency Preparedness (TCEP), and the valiant firefighters on the front lines.

<div>I am Brendan Playford, and my wife Cate Rung and I lived at 23036 Saddle Peak Road from 2020 to 2023. We are deeply connected to the Saddle Peak and Topanga, having experienced firsthand the beauty and community spirit of this area. My commitment to this community drives me to help in its time of need and we are personally donating an initial amount of $20,000 to this campaign as a sign of our commitment.

<div>The Los Angeles Fire Department's resources were stretched thin due to simultaneous fire outbreaks across the city. Topanga saw minimal direct support, with firefighting efforts predominantly shouldered by local volunteers. This has led to significant delays in fire suppression, worsening the impact on Topanga, including the displacement of the community, animals, wildlife and degradation of natural habitats.
