<div>On May 28th, the McGlynn family experienced the unimaginable: the sudden death of my dear friend Eileen’s husband,  Pat McGlynn, after a routine colonoscopy. Patrick, a 58-year-old husband of Eileen (Buckley) McGlynn originally from Brooklyn, NY later settled and raised their girls (Caitlin &amp; Regina) in Jackson, NJ.

<div>Pat had worked at the same company for over 20 years. But when his employer converted him to a contractor, he unknowingly lost his disability insurance. Soon after, Pat suffered a massive stroke that left him unable to work. For the last 8 years, his family has been doing everything possible to keep going — using up his entire 401(k) and every bit of savings just to survive.

<div>Pat fought hard to stay with his family, despite long-term health issues. All this while he and his wife cared for their disabled daughter, who still depends on them.

<div>Now, after years of hardship, the final blow came unexpectedly. The McGlynn family is not only grieving, but completely unprepared financially.

<div>They have no money for a funeral — and can’t even cover this month’s mortgage.
