<div>In April of 1797, the Garífuna people arrived on the shores of Punta Gorda, marking the beginning of more than two centuries of identity, resilience, and cultural continuity in Honduras.

<div>Today, 229 years later, this living culture continues through language, drumming, dance, and community life. Punta Gorda remains the symbolic birthplace of the Garífuna presence in Central America.

<div>The 29th Garífuna Settlement Commemoration is a community-led cultural event that brings together families, youth, artists, and the Garífuna diaspora to honor this history and keep it alive.

<div>Over three days, Punta Gorda will host a structured program focused on cultural preservation, education, and community development, including:

<div>All donations are received and managed through this nonprofit to ensure transparency and accountability. Funds will be used exclusively to support the organization and execution of the 29th Garífuna Settlement Commemoration in Punta Gorda, Roatán and its cultural programs.
