<div>Butikslandskapet förändras, och vi förändras med det. Utan att avslöja för mycket kan vi säga att vi skiftar fokus mot att bli ett mer mångsidigt företag, med en tydlig handlingsplan. I denna tid av kulturdöd, där allt mer pengar styrs bort från kulturen, smider vi en plan för att ta över och driva events som andra inte längre har möjlighet att genomföra. Det handlar om att <strong>Streetlab ska expandera</strong> vår agentur och utveckla vårt distributionsnätverk för att äntligen kunna exportera vår kultur och våra produkter till resten av världen. Vi har haft oräkneliga möten med experter och har en ny (eller: ytterligare en) butikschef ombord för att se till att allt flyter på, men viktigast av allt: <strong>jag (Benhög) kommer att vara på plats mycket mer.</strong>

<div>Streetlab har funnits i 25 år och har backat över 50 skatare, inklusive Oski, Nando, Heitor Da Silva och Sarah Meurle, för att nämna några. Och det handlar inte bara om att stötta åkare; genom åren har vi gjort mycket för att bidra till Malmös kultur. Som släppet av <strong>Aluma x Streetlab</strong>-brädorna, där en del av intäkterna skänktes till Aluma för att stötta stadens hemlösa och videoprojekt som <strong>Lucca</strong> – som kom med på <strong>Vladimir Film Festival</strong> i Kroatien och som vi sedan visade här i Malmö. Det var snarare en festival än en videopremiär; ett firande av hela scenens hårda arbete. Om du vill att de här eventen, videorna, sponsorskapen och den här öppna scenen ska finnas kvar om fem år, så räcker inte den gamla butiksmodellen till. <strong>Vi behöver din hjälp för att dra igång nästa kapitel.</strong>

<div><strong>WE’RE NOT CLOSING DOWN, we’re evolving into a sustainable and diverse company.</strong>

<div>Retail is changing, and we are changing with it. Without disclosing too much information we’re shifting focus on being more of a diverse company with an action plan in mind. In this age of culture death with more money being directed away from the cultural department we are devising a plan to take on events that can no longer be run by others. This is about <strong>Streetlab expanding</strong> our agency and developing our distribution network to finally export our culture and products to the rest of the world. We’ve been having countless meetings with professionals and have a new(another?) shop manager on board to ensure things run smoothly, <strong>but most importantly I (Benhög) will be around more. </strong>

<div><strong>Streetlab has been around for 25 years </strong>and has supported over 50 skaters including Oski, Nando, Heitor Da Silva and Sarah Meurle, to name a few. And not just supporting riders, over the years we’ve done a lot to contribute to the culture of Malmö; the <strong>Aluma x Streetlab</strong> skateboard series release, with part of proceeds donated to Aluma to support homeless outreach and video projects like <strong>Lucca</strong>; getting accepted into the <strong>Vladimir Film Festival </strong>in Croatia then finally hosting the video here in Malmö, well it was more like a festival than a video premiere, as a celebration of the entire community’s hard work. If you want these events, videos, rider sponsorships, and this open-minded scene to exist five years from now, the old shop model isn't enough. <strong>We need your help to launch the new chapter. </strong>

<div>Framför oss ligger El Toro. Ingen har någonsin gjort en switch crook på El Toro förut. Det är den tyngsta, farligaste trappan i skateboardhistorien. Det är exakt så den här omställningen känns: hög risk, hög belöning. Ansatsen är spacklad och smooth. Räcket är vaxat. Nedanför den massiva trappan står alla våra kunder, teamet och alla som någonsin använt butiken som sitt nav, sin trygga punkt, sitt andra vardagsrum, redo att ta emot oss. Vi satsar full fart för en switch crook.

Det handlar inte bara om att hålla lamporna tända; det handlar om att täcka det mest basala: <strong>hyra, leverantörsskulder, löner och den oundvikliga, tunga pressen från Skatteverket.</strong> Vi har ett val: antingen lägger vi brädan på hyllan och ger upp, eller så <strong>ger vi allt vi har.</strong>

<div>Att bli en renodlad webbshop var aldrig ett alternativ. Vår passion och vårt syfte har alltid varit att erbjuda en plats att mötas på, att serva och att hjälpa Malmös skateboardscen att växa. Genom åren har vi stöttat över 50 skatare från Malmö och Sverige, legender som Jugga, Pennan, Oski, Heitor, Steffen, Sarah, Filly, Nando, Axel och Marnell. That is exactly what this business pivot feels like: high risk, high reward. The run-up is bondoed and smooth. The rail is waxed.
