<div>From last year: Joseph Christopher is a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Salt River Fire Department in Scottsdale, Arizona. After six years of dedicated service to his community, he was recently diagnosed with a germ cell tumor that has spread to his lungs. He is now facing a long and challenging journey through chemotherapy.

<div>Joseph initially began treatment on September 2nd and underwent four months of aggressive chemotherapy, known as VIP, due to the size of the tumor. While he and his family remain hopeful, this new development means his fight is not over, and further treatment is necessary as he continues on the path toward healing and recovery.

<div>Joseph and his partner of 11 years, Julienne, share four children: his stepdaughter, Tatianna (17), and their three sons, Joaquin (9), Jokai (5), and Joel (4).
