<div>I need a preventative Double Mastectomy. This is not a cosmetic procedure, but it is due to a vast familial history of not only breast cancer, but other types, and in my case, an added burden due to other medical issues.  Therefore, it’s something I must do.

<div>After much discussion, consults, and a dose of bravery, I have made the decision to take this monumental step in furthering my life. This has not been an easy decision, but I have confirmed with my physician that it is an optimal moment for me to take this step.

<div>This procedure is essential for my health and future. While it offers hope and healing, it also comes with overwhelming financial costs that go far beyond the operating room.
