<div>I am Rae, a 38-year-old single mother. I am a child abuse and neglect survivor and a childhood sexual assault survivor; I have had to overcome many unspeakable things. More times than I care to count, I have survived domestic violence and rape.

<div>As a child, I took care of my siblings and ailing grandmother, in addition to the household and pets. I was a mini-mother. I was never a child. Because I lacked education, I had children early, unaware of my options or my ability to say no, which led to my never experiencing life independently or escaping abuse. Raising my children alone was often a hardship. They had their own struggles and disabilities and would frequently become violent and abusive. They have attempted to harm and kill me several times.

<div>My goal will help me survive as I recover from my many surgeries needed to fix my mouth and jaw, as well as help me put a down payment on a home where I can be safe and stable. If possible, some funds may be used to pay some of my tuition so I can finish my BA.
