<div>On July 15-16, 2025, 5 USAW-RI employees of the Providence Public Library received layoff notices resulting from financial complications of the Covid-19 pandemic and cuts to federal funding from the Trump administration. All of these employees were in public facing positions and worked above and beyond their roles to directly serve their community and build connections that will benefit the library beyond their time there. It is worth noting that these folks are so caring, genuine, and generous to their communities that a few of these members have opted out of benefiting from this campaign. Instead, they have chosen to contribute financially to their affected co-workers despite facing economic uncertainty themselves.

<div>This campaign aims to provide support for our union siblings who have received these notices to help alleviate any financial stress they face as they look for new jobs.
