<div>Unfortunately it’s not possible to access publicly funded homebirths where I live, in the Blue Mountains Australia, so a private midwife is our only option. We've found a wonderful local midwife who lives just 10 minutes away, who will be present at our birth.

<div>We’re also choosing to have a doula this time. Our first attempted homebirth had complications and ended with a hospital transfer and a NICU stay for bubba, and in hindsight a doula would have made this experience a lot less traumatic.

<div><strong>No matter where and how this second bubba chooses to be born, we’re confident that our wonderful team will help it to be a beautiful, supported and sacred birth. </strong>

<div>BUT these services are expensive (and rightly so) which is difficult for a self-employed creative mama who works part-time. Instead of spending a large proportion of my income on this birth, I am hoping that anyone who has appreciated or benefited from my <em>Gumnut Magic</em> work will send some love back in the form of a small donation. And that friends and family might donate instead of buying any baby gifts - we literally need no more stuff, but a positive birth experience will be the best present ever!
