<div>On 1st July Camden Council submitted a planning application to knock down all 316 homes on West Kentish Town Estate and build 856 in their place.
</div>

<div>530 dwellings will be for private sale at very high prices, 326 for social rent.
</div>

</div>
<div>The scheme is too dense and too tall for our neighbourhood.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>4x the existing amount of buildings …
</div>

</div>
<div>4x as tall (up to 16 storeys) …
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>and will take 20 years to build due to its vast size.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The scheme is much too big and must be reduced in scale.
</div>

<div>As proposed it will cause:

<li>health hazards from people living near the site: dust, noise, air pollution
</li>
<li>endless disruption and danger from construction traffic: 120,000 HGVs over 20 years
</li>
<li>poor daylight and sunlight and loss of views
</li>
<li>no community facilities or key-worker housing
</li>
<li>loss of mature green areas and half the trees
</li>
<li>crammed blocks creating a ‘heat island’ effect
</li>
<li>expensive private homes won’t change the housing crisis
</li>
