She is trying to rebuild her life and is now raising her two children on her own, including her son who has autism and needs ongoing therapy. She is behind on rent and owes significant legal fees as she fights for her children’s safety and stability. She fought hard for a DVO and is now going through a difficult custody battle. The emotional toll has been overwhelming, and she’s struggling to find work and is doing everything she can to heal from the trauma. Her family has helped to the best of their ability, but as things have gotten harder for them, and their support has faded. Misty is mostly on her own.
