<div>Every day, they spend up to 15 hours collecting cans and recyclable materials, often working until very late at night 10/11pm just to earn one to three dollars in total! Despite working this hard, they recently went three days without eating because they simply could not afford food. When I first met with them in the video they were going in 3 days without food or showering.

<div>Their living conditions are incredibly difficult. Kahlia and her mother do not have a real home they live in a small shack built from recycled materials and whatever supplies they have been able to find.

<div>Kahlia is also currently unable to attend school because her family cannot afford the school fees. Instead of being able to focus on her education and childhood, she spends her days alongside her mother trying to help their family survive.

<div>They are struggling tremendously, but they still have hope for a better future. Their dream is to open a small shop of their own so they can earn a stable income, have food every day, return Kahlia to school, and no longer have to spend 15 hours a day searching for recycling just to survive.

<div>We created this GoFundMe to help Diya and her mother get back on their feet — providing immediate help with food and basic necessities while also giving them an opportunity to create a more stable future for themselves.

These costs may include program personnel and staffing, family outreach and case management, storytelling and content production, travel, fundraising, legal and compliance costs, administrative expenses, and other reasonable operational costs.

<div>These resources are essential to our ability to find families who may otherwise go unseen, personally understand their needs, bring their stories to a wider community, raise awareness and support, and ultimately provide meaningful assistance that can change their lives.

If the featured family’s needs are fully met, change, or cannot be funded as originally anticipated, remaining funds may be used for other Foundation programs and charitable purposes consistent with Miracles for Humanity Foundation’s mission.
