<div>PANS stands for Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome, and PANDAS refers to Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Strep Infections. In children affected by PANS/PANDAS, the immune system mistakenly attacks the brain during illnesses. This misdirected immune response can significantly diminish a child's quality of life, depending on its severity.
