My father is 58 years old and is having to have a heart transplant. <strong>22 years ago, he had a massive heart attack that nearly killed him.</strong> He had to have a pacemaker and defibrillator put in to keep his heart going. In those 22 years, he has experienced tachycardia and more blocked arteries. His heart is now only functioning at 15% and is dying. <strong>Due to the rapid decline, his heart doctor has made the decision that he needs a heart transplant immediately.</strong> Insurance won't cover the full cost, and there are a lot of co-pays leading up to the surgery. After his heart transplant, he will be moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, to recover for 2 months.
