<div><strong>A Sudden Diagnosis</strong>

<div>Three weeks ago, Juanita began feeling unwell with what doctors initially believed was pneumonia. However, her condition quickly revealed something much more serious: she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)—an aggressive and fast-moving cancer of the blood and bone marrow.

<div>This diagnosis requires immediate and intensive treatment, including chemotherapy, a possible bone marrow transplant, and extended hospital stays. Juanita was admitted for a 30-day hospital stay in La Jolla, where she recently and courageously completed her first 7-day round of chemotherapy.

<div>In the coming days, we will know how effective her chemotherapy was and what the next steps on her healing journey will be. The path ahead is still unfolding, and our love and support mean more than ever.
