<div>Jalen, a gentle and loving Weimaraner, is in the fight of his life. Just a short time ago, he was his usual sweet, affectionate self—bringing joy to everyone who met him. Now, he’s battling a severe case of infectious pneumonia that isn’t responding to antibiotics.

<div>The cause could be viral, but doctors also fear something even more serious: a possible hole in his trachea, either from a tear during a recent procedure or from the damage of severe coughing. Jalen was rushed to a specialty hospital for emergency surgery to look for dangerous complications, including pneumomediastinum (air leaking into the chest cavity). Without immediate intervention, his chances are heartbreakingly slim.
