</div>On July 24, 2025, our community lost a brave and selfless man in a tragic and senseless act of violence. Jaime, the beloved father of a Rocky Mount Police Officer, was shot and killed while courageously stepping in to protect others during a horrifying incident in a local park.
What began as an ordinary day turned into a nightmare when a shooter began threatening innocent lives. Without hesitation, Jaime intervened, a final act of bravery that cost him his life but saved others. His heroic actions exemplify the very best of humanity.
He was more than a hero in his final moments, he was a devoted father, a loving family man, a friend to many, and someone who always looked out for others. His loss leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, and his family is now facing unimaginable grief. He is survived by his three children and three grandchildren. 
We are raising funds to help cover funeral expenses, support his grieving family, and honor his legacy of courage and sacrifice. No donation is too small. Every dollar helps and sends a message that his bravery will not be forgotten.
