<div>She is a  senior citizen who has fallen on hard times due to arthritic issues in both of her knees, which has landed her in a long-term care facility in Milford, MI.


</div>


<div>Ilar worked hard as a chemist/engineer for more than 22 years in the automotive industry until downsizing and layoffs caused her to pivot and switch careers, moving to education as a regular substitute teacher for the next 17 years, including returning to school.  She still tries to tutor students online, when possible.


</div>


<div>Ilar's insurance company has decided to no longer pay for her physical therapy and  care.


</div>


<div>She is facing the prospect of being forced to give up her apartment and permanently remain at the facility in Milford. If that happens, the facility will take all but $60 a month from her Social Security benefits.


</div>


<div>She needs $3,200 to cover her rent and bills for a month because her social security will be used to pay for her room and board and physical therapy at the facility during that time. With a month of successful physical therapy, Ilar will be able to return to her apartment and continue to live independently.
