<div>Based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, <a href="https://heldspacebk.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Held Space</a> is a collective of open-minded, kind-hearted people united by a shared passion for mental health, movement, and creativity. Since our founding in 2022, we’ve raised thousands of dollars for local causes, including the Greenpoint Community Kitchen, P.S. 34, &amp; more.

<div>Thanks to our growing community, we’ve outgrown our spaces at Java Studios, where we currently have one therapy office &amp; a 12-person studio.

<div><strong>We are thrilled to announce that we have signed a lease at </strong><a href="https://g.co/kgs/ggTb2kM" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>960 Manhattan Ave</strong></a><strong> </strong>, a 4,000 square foot space in a beautiful historic brick building just steps from the G train!! This is a raw space that we’ll be building out specifically to meet our needs. We’ll remain at Java Studios while the build-out is underway &amp; hope to move to 960 Manhattan by August 1, 2025.

<div><strong>This expansion will allow us to fully realize our multi-faceted vision for Held Space: </strong>
</div>
<div>-For <em>mental health &amp; wellness practitioners</em> in private practice, a workplace that encourages professional autonomy while facilitating collaboration with like-minded peers
</div>
<div>-For <em>group facilitators</em>, a flexible, fully stocked &amp; affordable studio space to share their offerings with up to 25 participants
</div>
<div>-For <em>ANYONE</em>, a radically accepting third space, where they can come for mental healthcare, movement, creativity, connection &amp; play
</div>

<div>Held Space values <em>purpose over profit</em>, which means we operate on a very tight budget &amp; have no outside investors. Our founder <a href="https://templepsychiatry.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Laura Temple</a> &amp; her husband Ryan Barry have invested all that they can from their personal savings to secure the lease. So now we need your help!

<div><strong>Here’s what you’ll be funding, specifically:</strong>

<div>-Building Costs to create 5 private offices, the Studio, kitchenette &amp; storage (estimated $60K)
</div>
<div>-Moving Costs
</div>
<div>-Furnishings for therapy/bodywork rooms &amp; the VERY large common area
</div>
<div>-Additional props for the expanded yoga capacity
</div>
<div>-Cleaning supplies, kitchen equipment, all the little things that make a place feel like home :)
</div>
<div>-Payment for our lovely, hard-working staff who are working overtime to get us ready for the move

We are deeply rooted in this neighborhood &amp; committed to helping our neighbors thrive, and we can't wait to host more fundraisers in our new location.
