<div>We are writing as friends of Hala Habib. Our dear Hala was diagnosed with breast cancer this July. Hala was about to begin her sixth year as a PhD student in Anthropology at Columbia University. She will have to go on medical leave for the fall semester of 2025, which allows her to maintain access to medical insurance but leaves her with no stipend or income at a critical time.
