<div>Yesterday, I received heartbreaking news about Isabella (name changed for privacy), one of our Cuban students.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Her family came to the U.S. last year through a humanitarian program that promised safety and stability. Isabella has been thriving in school — learning English, making friends, and daring to dream about her future here.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But this summer, everything started to unravel. The government ended the program her family entered on, which canceled their work permits. Even though they qualify for permanent residency under the Cuban Adjustment Act, their case is now tied up in immigration court. On December 9th, Isabella and her family face a hearing that could decide whether they are allowed to stay in the U.S. or be deported.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Isabella should be worried about homework and soccer practice — not deportation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is why we created the Fugees Freedom Fund: so no student has to face this fight alone. Your gift today makes it possible to hire an attorney, cover legal filings, and give families the support they need to stay safe and together.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>What your gift provides:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>$25 → transportation to and from court
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>$100 → legal filing fees
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>$500 → one day of attorney representation
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any amount → peace of mind for a child who just wants to be in class, not in custody
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Together, we have already raised over $30,000 toward our $100,000 goal. Every gift brings us closer to ensuring Isabella — and students like her — get the protection they deserve.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div> Please give today. Help us keep kids in classrooms, not courtrooms.
