I never thought I’d be in this position, but I’ve been in the hospital since April 10th dealing with a serious condition that affected my lungs, heart, and other organs. What started as chest pain and trouble breathing quickly turned into an emergency. I was admitted to the ICU and had to be placed on a breathing machine. After that, I was on high-flow oxygen and still continue to need support as I recover. The infection attacked my body hard, even impacting my kidneys, but by the grace of God I am improving. My condition was so severe that doctors discussed the possibility of a heart transplant or a defibrillator. They are starting me on heart medicine first to see if my body will accept it. If my body rejects the medicine, I may need a heart transplant or defibrillator. I am still in the hospital and doctors do not have an update for me yet. Doctors have told me I’m recovering faster than expected, and I truly believe that’s because of God and the prayers from people around me. This has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced physically and mentally. Being out of work and in the hospital has created a lot of financial stress on top of everything else. I’m starting this fundraiser to help with medical bills, monthly expenses while I recover, and basic day-to-day needs during this time.
