Although there was truly nothing my dad could have done to stop it, he has carried the weight of that moment every day since.

My dad has had nightmares, relives the scene in flashes, and battles anxiety that makes even ordinary tasks feel overwhelming. As the investigation continues, he hasn’t been able to return to work, leaving him without the stability he’s always relied on. But more than anything, he’s struggling to find his footing as the investigation continues.

<div>Our hope in sharing his story is simple: we want people to understand what he’s living through. We want him to feel supported, believed, and surrounded by compassion as he works toward healing.
