<div>Hi my name is Jo Lane . I own a local walpole business Jl Salon .
</div>
<div> I am Fundraising for
</div>
<div>Support Michael Filby — The 80-Year-Old Pensioner Keeping Australia’s Cleanest Highway
</div>
<div>Beautiful
</div>
<div>For more than 20 years, Michael Filby has dedicated himself to a remarkable act of community
</div>
<div>service. Now 80 years old, Michael still goes out every single week in his old 4WD, collecting
</div>
<div>rubbish along the South Western Highway to protect our forests, wildlife and landscapes.
</div>
<div>Over decades of this quiet, relentless work, Michael has personally removed hundreds of tons of
</div>
<div>litter — bottles, broken glass, metal, plastic and dangerous debris that would otherwise harm
</div>
<div>wildlife and scar one of the most scenic routes in Western Australia. He has done almost all of this
</div>
<div>at his own expense, paying for fuel, equipment and vehicle maintenance simply because he
</div>
<div>cares. During this period, he has covered the equivalent of three circumnavigations of the
</div>
<div>planet in road-cleaning trips along this 250 km stretch. Thanks to Michael’s dedication, this
</div>
<div>section of highway is known by many as the cleanest highway in Australia.
</div>
<div>Now It’s Our Turn to Support Him
</div>
<div>At 80, Michael wants to keep going — and to help ensure this work continues into the future. Funds
</div>
<div>raised will support:
</div>
<div>• Fuel and maintenance for his vehicle (currently averaging $10,000 per year)
</div>
<div>• Safety and collection equipment
</div>
<div>• Assistance and training for future volunteers to carry on his legacy
</div>
<div>If You’ve Ever Travelled This Highway — Please Show Your Appreciation
</div>
<div>If you’ve enjoyed driving this beautifully clean highway, admired the scenery, or benefited from
</div>
<div>Michael’s decades of effort, please consider donating as a way of saying thank you and helping his
</div>
<div>work continue.
</div>
<div>Every contribution helps honour a lifetime of service — and keeps our roads and wildlife safe.
</div>
<div>Thank you for supporting Michael and the place he loves.
</div>
<div>lets help keep this beautiful place litter free.
