<div>My name is Finlee Wilder McGrath. I’m 28 years old, and I’m facing a medical crisis that’s been silently building for most of my life.

<div>When I was just 8, I lost my hearing without explanation. No injury, no illness — just a sudden, permanent silence. After two decades of unanswered questions, the truth has finally come to light:

<div>I have a rare tumor called a transotic schwannoma — a slow-growing, but potentially life-altering tumor that’s been pressing against the nerves that control my hearing and facial movement. It’s likely been there since childhood, and it’s continued to grow unchecked, quietly threatening more than just my hearing.

<div>This tumor — which I’ve come to call “Trouble” — is entwined with my facial nerve. Without surgery, the risks grow with time: facial paralysis, and worsening neurological symptoms.

<div>On May 12th, I will undergo brain surgery in New York City to remove Trouble.

</div>

<div>It’s a high-stakes, delicate procedure involving both neurotologists and neurosurgeons. The goal is not just to remove the tumor, but to preserve what can be saved — my facial function, my balance, and my long-term quality of life.

<div>This surgery is urgent, necessary, and incredibly expensive — even with insurance.

<div>I’m humbly asking for help raising $20,000 to offset the substantial costs tied to this surgery and recovery, including:

Nikki is a volunteer firefighter and full-time EMT, responding to emergencies and providing life-saving care, while I work as a Preventative Family Specialist, supporting local children and families through counseling, education, and crisis intervention. We both love what we do and feel incredibly lucky to serve others every day.
