<div>We are raising funds for Fidel Sánchez Ávalos, a beloved faith leader and community member who has called the United States home for 30 years. Fidel has been an active member of Christ the King (CTK) for 25 years and a dedicated leader with the San Diego Organizing Project (SDOP) for nearly a decade. He is a father of two U.S. citizen daughters and a source of strength, compassion, and faith for many in our community.

<div>On Thursday, October 9th, Fidel attended his Master Immigration Hearing, where he was scheduled for a follow-up appointment in January 2026. Despite this, he was unexpectedly detained by ICE following the hearing. His attorney is working hard to request bail, but there is no guarantee it will be granted.
