<div>My father is now in a rehab/nursing home. Things remain uncertain on many levels. He has become severely depressed, Improvement from rehab is moving at a slower rate than hoped.

<div>Kipp Elbaum here, Don Elbaum’s son. April 23 I received a call at my home in NYC that my 93 year old father had been found on the floor of his Erie PA apartment unresponsive with complete organ shutdown. I immediately headed to Erie from NYC and have and WILL remain by his side as long as he needs.
</div>
<div>As most known my father is an internationally known and respected professional boxing legend. The doctors feared the worst but I know how tough my father is. Within 5 days he was off of all lifesaving machines and his body was working on its own.
</div>
<div>Full recovery is going to be a long slow process. He also has another heart surgery early June. He and I need help to get him through this on many fronts and of course most all involve money. I believe the boxing community can help greatly in keeping my father around a bit longer. I know how much he is loved and respected and I wish to thank you all now for your kindness and support.
