<div>Blake’s Story
</div>
<div>At the end of March 2025, I received a kidney transplant after nearly 5 years of dialysis.

</div>
<div>Fast forward to the end of July of this year. I started out on a trip to Wisconsin to visit family I hadn’t seen since I began dialysis - it really kept me tied down. By the second day into the trip, I realized something was wrong. After stays in two different hospitals during August and early September, I wound up back at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. After several procedures and tests, I learned that my transplanted kidney failed through no fault of my own - it was diseased to begin with. On September 8th, I had surgery to remove it.

</div>
<div>I now need several weeks of physical and occupational therapy to regain strength and learn how to walk again after 3 weeks of being bedridden.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While insurance covers part of the cost, it doesn’t cover it all. And it doesn’t cover travel and accommodations for my family members to travel for my support.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That’s why I’m asking for your support. I have gone through my short-term savings, and maxed out credit cards. My family is as supportive as they can be, but some are starting to tap into their retirement accounts for me.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>All donations will go to help to cover insurance deductibles and copays, and non-reimbursable expenses such as caregiver travel costs.
