<div>On a scorching summer day in Utica, NY, witnesses saw something no animal should ever endure. A man on a bicycle was dragging a starving dog through the Parkway in 90° heat. The pavement burned his paws with every step. Once they reached Proctor Park, the man abandoned him and left without a glance.

<div>The police were called, but no action was taken. This broken, exhausted dog was left alone — until I got the call.

<div>When I brought him into my care, I was heartbroken. He’s a bully-type pup, weighing only 33 pounds, with every rib visible. He is severely underweight, dehydrated, and suffering from painful burns on his paw pads. And yet, despite everything, he greeted me with gentle eyes and a tail that still tried to wag.

<div>Once he is medically stable, I’ll begin working on his training so he’s ready for the safe, loving home he deserves.
