<div><strong>15 jährige Pemba und ihren gehörlosen Vater Chheeri Sherpa</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>

<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>

<div>Vielen herzlichen Dank und liebe Grüsse

<div><strong><em>The call for donations in English:</em></strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Two years of college in Kathmandu, Nepal— a lifelong dream and the only chance at a normal life for 15-year-old Pemba and her deaf father Chheeri Sherpa</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Chheeri and his two brothers are deaf and knows what poverty and famine really mean. As a child, he was not allowed to go to school with the other children because of his hearing impairment and instead had to work as a porter and in the fields.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It was only when he was 25 years old that he was allowed to attend a school for the deaf in Kathmandu, thanks to the support of a deaf friend. It changed his life. He started a family and for several years now has been able to work occasionally as a trekking guide on mountain tours (often EBC-Tours). He keeps his family just above water with
</div>
<div>small odd jobs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With this appeal for donations, we would like to support his daughter Pemba. She completed compulsory schooling with distinction in May 2024 and has been accepted to study economics at Kathmandu College for three years. She is happy to make the long journey to school (2-3 hours a day by public bus), but the costs involved are disproportionately high.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The annual enrollment fee for the college is CHF 1,200. In addition, there are bus tickets, a lunch, school supplies, school uniforms, etc. Cheeri cannot possibly finance this alone.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>(All together, this costs approximately CHF 1,800 per year. The target amount is CHF 4,000 so that she can attend college for three years.)
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am hearing impaired myself and support Cheeri and Pemba wherever I can. However, we are also
</div>
<div>hoping for your support—every donation goes directly to the family, and I personally guarantee this. Every dollar counts!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Warm regards
</div>
