<div>ich gehe bis an das Ende der Welt für den Klimaschutz. Nächstes Jahr geht es allein bis zum Südpol, dabei sammle ich Schneeproben für die Wissenschaft und möchte die Öffentlichkeit nutzen, um auf die Klimakrise aufmerksam zu machen.

<div>Mein Name ist Lilith van Amerongen, ich bin 24 Jahre alt und Klimaaktivistin aus Hamburg. Wie euch beschäftigt mich die drängende Aufgabe, unser Klimaproblem anzugehen. Seit der Oberstufe bin ich in der Klimabewegung aktiv und wende mich an euch, weil ich glaube, dass wir gemeinsam für eine positive Veränderung einstehen können.

<div>Im November 2025 werde ich auf eine Solo-Expedition zum Südpol aufbrechen mit dem Ziel, eine der jüngsten Personen in der Geschichte zu werden, die eine solche Reise unternimmt. Warum stelle ich mich dieser unglaublichen Herausforderung? Um eine Stimme meiner Generation zu sein, die ein Licht auf das drängende Thema des Klimawandels wirft und die Notwendigkeit unseres Handelns hervorhebt. Ich bin mir sicher, dass mit großer Überzeugung für ein Thema bis ans Ende der Welt zu gehen, sowohl metaphorisch als auch buchstäblich, eine kraftvolle Aussage über die globalen Auswirkungen des Klimawandels ist.

<div>Die Expedition geht über persönliche Ambitionen hinaus. Zusammen mit euch und der Generation Forest Genossenschaft forsten wir durch Spenden während der Expedition eine neue Landfläche in Panama auf, den Pinguin-Wald. Denn alle unsere Ökosysteme sind untrennbar verbunden. Wenn das Eis schmilzt, brennt der Wald und vice versa. Beim deutsch-panamaischen Gründer*innenteam liegt der Genetationenwald als CO₂-Senke in guten und erfahrenen Händen.  Klimaschutz muss ganzheitlich sein und was gibt es Besseres, als in Zeiten von Rechtsruck und Klimaleugnung progressive Themen tatkräftig anzugehen?

<div>In dem Spirit werde ich Schneeproben auf dem antarktischen Plateau sammeln und wertvolle Daten für die Forschung zu atmosphärischen Partikeln nach Hause bringen. Diese werden von Heike Wex am Leibniz-Institut für Troposphärenforschung (TROPOS) in Deutschland ausgewertet. Die Daten sind entscheidend für das Verständnis der Eisbildung in Wolken und potenziell für die Entwicklung von Klimamodellen, welche unsere Bemühungen zur Bekämpfung des Klimawandels leiten können.

<div>Aber Wissenschaft allein reicht nicht aus. Wir benötigen Stimmen, welche die Botschaft der Klimagerechtigkeit verstärken und zugänglich machen. Deshalb plane ich derzeit eine Klimakampagne. Das übergeordnete Ziel ist es, zu inspirieren und aufzuklären, indem wir die kraftvolle Kombination aus Abenteuer und Wissenschaftskommunikation nutzen, um Menschen nachhaltig zu mobilisieren. Medienberichterstattung prägt auch immer das öffentliche Meinungsbild und in der nächsten Zeit haben wir viele gesellschaftliche Debatten zu gewinnen. Das Ziel ist es, jede*n zu ermutigen, die eigene Stimme für positive Veränderungen zu nutzen.

<div>Um dieses ehrgeizige Projekt Realität werden zu lassen, benötige ich eure Unterstützung. Die geschätzten Expeditionskosten betragen 145.000 Euro. Das inkludiert den Transport, Trainingsexpeditionen, Ausrüstung, Logistik in der Antarktis (mehr als die Hälfte der Kosten) und Versicherungen. Alle Zuwendungen fließen direkt ins Projekt und ich profitiere als Privatperson finanziell nicht davon. Ich lade euch ein, meine Partner*innen auf dem Weg zum Südpol und für Klimagerechtigkeit zu werden.

<div>In November 2025, I'll be embarking on a groundbreaking solo expedition to the South Pole, with the goal of becoming one of the youngest persons in history to undertake such a journey. Why am I taking on this incredible challenge? To be a voice for my generation, shining a spotlight on the critical issue of climate change and the urgent need for action. I believe that by going to the ends of the Earth, both metaphorically and literally, we can make a powerful statement about the global impact of climate change.

<div>This expedition goes beyond personal achievement. Together with you and the Generation Forest cooperative, we are reforesting an area of ​​land in Panama, the penguin forest, through donations during the expedition. Because all of our ecosystems are linked. When the ice melts, the forest burns and vice versa. In the hands of the German-Panamanian founding team, the generation forest as a carbon sink is well cared for. Climate protection must be holistic, and what could be better than actively tackling progressive issues in times of right-wing politics and climate denial?

<div>In that spirit I'll be collecting snow samples on the Antarctic plateau, contributing valuable data for atmospheric particle research led by Heike Wex at the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (TROPOS) in Germany. This data is crucial for understanding snow formation and developing climate models that can guide our efforts in combating climate change.

<div>But science alone is not enough. We require a voice to amplify the message of climate justice. That's why I am currently planning and creating a climate campaign. The overarching objective is to inspire and educate, leveraging the powerful combination of adventure and science communication to create a lasting impact. Media coverage creates public attention and narratives that can lead to social action. Which is essential in our times. The aim is to empower everyone to use their voice for positive change.

<div>To make this ambitious project a reality, I need your support.
