<div>Hallo, ich bin <strong>Nadja Gallera,</strong> 26 Jahre alt, und ich stehe kurz vor dem Abschluss meines Schauspielstudiums an der Cours Florent (Macromedia) in Berlin.

<div>Dieses Abschlussprojekt ist mehr als nur ein Kurzfilm – es ist eine Geschichte, die mich mein Leben lang begleitet: <strong>die Suche nach der eigenen kulturellen Identität.</strong> Bin ich deutsch? Bin ich polnisch? Wie vereine ich die Erwartungen meiner Familie mit meinem eigenen Lebensweg? Und wie begleiche ich die imaginäre Schuld bei meinen Eltern, die so viel geopfert haben, um mir ein besseres Leben in Deutschland zu ermöglichen?

<div><strong>LOST IN TRANSLATION </strong>ist ein ca 15-minütiges Kurzfilm-Drama, das vier junge Menschen aus unterschiedlichen kulturellen Hintergründen an einem Abend zusammenbringt: <strong>Polnisch, Türkisch, Vietnamesisch und Deutsch.</strong>

<div>Anlass ist die Verlobungsfeier von Julian und Linh. Doch was als fröhliches Beisammensein beginnt, eskaliert schnell zu einem emotionalen Schlachtfeld. Sie kämpfen mit denselben Fragen: Wessen Traditionen ehren wir bei der Hochzeit? Welchen Nachnamen tragen wir? Wie viel Freiheit dürfen wir uns von den Erwartungen unserer Eltern nehmen? Der Film beleuchtet dabei schonungslos die inneren Konflikte der zweiten Generation – zwischen Tradition, Leistungserwartung und dem Wunsch nach Selbstbestimmung.

How do I reconcile my family's expectations with my own path? And how do I repay the imaginary debt to my parents, who sacrificed so much to enable a better life for me in Germany?

<div><strong>LOST IN TRANSLATION</strong> is an approximately 15-minute short film drama that brings together four young people from different cultural backgrounds over the course of one evening: <strong>Polish, Turkish, Vietnamese, and German.</strong>

<div>The occasion is the engagement celebration of Julian and Linh. However, what begins as a cheerful gathering quickly escalates into an emotional battlefield. They fight over the same questions: Whose traditions do we honor at the wedding? Which surname do we adopt? How much freedom can we take from our parents' expectations? The film relentlessly exposes the internal conflicts of the second generation—caught between tradition, performance pressure, and the desire for self-determination.
