<div>It is with great sadness that I share the news that Shirley has passed away. We are devastated. Hugh, her husband, has been by her side throughout it all, and their daughter Aidan was truly the light of Shirley’s life.

<div>Hi I’m Lauren and it is with a heavy heart that I ask for your support for Shirley Betts Pilgrim, a beautiful soul who is currently fighting for her life in ICU in Grenada, in the Caribbean.

<div>Shirley, a loving wife to Hugh and a devoted mother to her daughter Aidan, contracted a virus that tragically led to organ failure and has left her with a devastating condition known as Locked-In Syndrome - conscious and aware of her surroundings but unable to move or speak.

<div>Shirley’s family has been by her side every single day, especially her husband, Hugh, who has not left her side since this began. Shirley’s daughter, Aidan, who is the light of her life, is studying in Norway, and the distance between them has only made this heartbreaking situation even more challenging for them all.
