<div>In April 2023, Krista had a workplace accident in her studio when she missed the last steps of a ladder. Her right leg took the full impact on the concrete. What seemed minor at first revealed both a torn hip labrum and a genetic hip abnormality requiring complete hip replacement.

<div>The journey to get proper care has been incredibly difficult. Her workers' compensation claim was initially denied, forcing her to hire an attorney just to see a specialist. During this same period, she was caring for her mom who was battling cancer in Michigan and ultimately passed away. The injury also caused vein issues requiring expensive treatment.

<div>After nearly two years of pain and legal battles, Krista finally saw a hip specialist who confirmed hip replacement surgery is her only option.<strong> Surgery is scheduled for July 7th.</strong>
