<div>But recently, Nova began showing signs of a serious neurological issue. We’re now taking her to the University of Tennessee to see a neurosurgeon—and we’re scared. The vets believe it could be one of two things:

<div>A herniated disc, which is painful but treatable, though the testing and surgery will be expensive.

</div>

<div>Or degenerative myelopathy, a heartbreaking and incurable disease that slowly paralyzes dogs from the waist down.

<div>We’re holding out hope that it’s a disc issue—because Nova deserves a chance at a happy, pain-free life. She’s not just a pet. My wife and I don’t have children; our dogs are our kids. Nova is my wife’s pride and joy, her shadow, her comfort, and her best friend.

<div>We're doing everything we can, but the cost of impending MRIs, specialist visits, and possible surgery is overwhelming. That’s why we’re reaching out.
