<div>Due to dangerous chemical exposure from a roofing project, Sierra Elementary has been closed and we know at least for 2 months. All of our teachers’ classroom supplies as well as everything parents brought on meet the teacher - books, decorations, learning materials, tissues, art supplies, folders, markers, crayons, pencils, etc  - should stay in the building until further testing is done to determine what is safe to remove. The district plans to move those items to Cerritos or Altadena, but we would much rather support the school/district so they don't feel the financial need to do so at the time, especially without final testing results, an understanding of the chemicals/levels and proper decontamination techniques if possible,  doing so could expose students and staff to the same hazardous chemicals again.
