My sister who is a resident and new business owner of Sacramento was devastated by the recent looting of local shops, many of which have already suffered a great deal with the pandemic lock-down. I, just like many of you, am heart-struck by the tragedy of George Floyd, as well as the systemic racism that must be addressed in our country. All lives don't matter until Black Lives Matter. Our family is in full support of peaceful protests and the BLM movement. In this moment of solidarity, after peaceful protests, Sacramento downtown businesses were unfair victims of looting.
That's why it came with much sadness to our family when my sister, Farah, and her business, Nourish Skin & Wax suffered irreparable property damage. She started in the skincare business almost two decades ago, eventually opening her own skincare studio in SF bringing her vision to life. Then, most recently moving to Sacramento to start a new life and build her business within a thriving Sacramento local scene.
We have started this fund to help rebuild this salon, with hopes to bring short-term relief to her storefront. The funds will go towards the rebuilding costs of windows, doors, products, and furniture. Our hope is that Farah will be able to survive this devastation, quickly reopen and at least get back to break even.
Please help our Sacramento-based family raise some money on her behalf to recover. Every dollar counts. We are a family that supports local businesses and part of the community that supports each other in times of need. Thank you for all your support!
