<div>Hi! I'm Judi Beecher. I'm making a feature length docu-drama entitled <strong>Run Ronya: The Kindness of Strangers </strong>about my mother Ronya who was deported from Germany with her parents at four and a half years old and imprisoned in Camp Rivesaltes in the south of France. A year later she was smuggled out by the Swiss Red Cross and put into hiding.  At six-and-a-half years old she was one of only two children to escape across the French-Swiss border to freedom.. alone.

<li>On June 20th we completed part 3 of the film, Ronya, now 86, returned to the camps where she was imprisoned with her parents for the first time and followed the escape route she and her parents followed separately to miraculously escape from the camps in France into Switzerland.

</div>
<div>The last generation of survivors are now in their late eighties and older. With the astounding rise in antisemitism around the world, it is more important than ever to promote acceptance and tolerance! A survey by Claims Conference finds significant lack of Holocaust knowledge in the United States. Four in ten Millennials don’t know that six million Jews were killed. There were over 40,000 camps and ghettos during the holocaust, and 49% of millennial can’t name one. Twenty two percent of Millennials say they haven’t even heard of the Holocaust. Soon there will be no one left who lived it first hand.

<div>Ronya's journey to freedom and that of her parents was only possible through the compassion of strangers who placed themselves in harm's way. In today's world of intolerance, if we don’t learn, nothing will change.

<div>Bonjour, je m'appelle Judi Beecher et je réalise un long métrage documentaire intitulé Run Ronya : The Kindness of Strangers (La bonté des étrangers) sur ma mère Ronya qui a été déportée d'Allemagne avec ses parents à l'âge de quatre ans et demi et emprisonnée au camp de Rivesaltes dans le sud de la France. Un an plus tard, la Croix-Rouge suisse l'a fait sortir clandestinement et l'a mise à l'abri. Elle est retournée pour la première fois dans les camps où elle a été emprisonnée avec ses parents et a suivi l'itinéraire d'évasion qu'elle et ses parents ont emprunté séparément pour s'échapper miraculeusement des camps et passer de la France à la Suisse. Nous commencerons la quatrième partie du voyage de Ronya dans le sud de la France pour filmer les scènes de récréation avec les acteurs le 24 octobre 2023 et nous avons besoin de votre aide dès maintenant pour terminer cette partie la plus importante du tournage !
