 Meine beiden Kinder- die 9-jährige Anka und der 6-jährige Aleksa leiden an einer grausamen, extrem seltenen Genkrankheit namens Aspartylglucosaminurie (AGU). Weltweit gibt es nur etwa 200 Kinder mit dieser Diagnose. Diese Krankheit raubt den Kindern schleichend das Sprechen, das Gehen, den Verstand und am Ende- ihr Leben.

 Es gibt aber eine rettende Gentherapie in den USA, die diesen Albtraum stoppen kann. Unsere einzige Chance ist es jetzt die Aufnahme in die klinische Studie zu finanzieren.

 Meine Kinder haben keine Zeit- jeder verlorene Tag zerstört Fähigkeiten, die sie nie wiederbekommen.

Er schläft oft mit seinem Fussball im Arm und träumt so sehr davon, eines Tages auf einem echten Rasen zu stehen und ein Tor zu schiessen. Doch wenn wir den Zugang zur Therapie nicht rechtzeitig finanzieren, werden seine Beine diesen Traum niemals tragen können.

 <strong>• Anka </strong>hat aufgehört von grossen Dingen zu träumen. Ihr einziger, herzzerreissender Wunsch ist es, einfach nicht mehr so extrem müde zu sein. Sie möchte nur die Kraft haben, mit ihren Freundinnen zu spielen, ohne dass die Erschöpfung sie sofort in die Knie zwingt.

 My two children—9-year-old Anka and 6-year-old Aleksa—are suffering from a cruel, extremely rare genetic disorder called Aspartylglucosaminuria (AGU). There are only about 200 children worldwide living with this diagnosis.

 This disease slowly and ruthlessly steals away their speech, their ability to walk, their minds, and ultimately—their lives.

 However, there is a life-saving gene therapy in the USA that can stop this nightmare. Our only chance right now is to fund their admission into this clinical trial. My children are running out of time—every single day lost destroys vital skills that they will never get back.

 <strong>• Aleksa</strong> is a joyful little boy. He often falls asleep holding his football in his arms, dreaming so deeply of one day standing on a real grass pitch and scoring a goal. But if we fail to fund access to this therapy in time, his legs will never be able to carry that dream.

 <strong>• Anka</strong> has stopped dreaming of big things. Her only, heartbreaking wish is simply not to feel so terribly tired anymore. She just wants to have the strength to play with her friends, without exhaustion instantly bringing her to her knees.

 Moje dvoje dece – devetogodišnja Anka i šestogodišnji Aleksa – boluju od okrutne, izuzetno retke genetske bolesti koja se zove aspartilglukozaminurija (AGU). Širom sveta postoji svega oko 200 dece sa ovom dijagnozom. Ova bolest im polako i neprimetno krade govor, hod, razum i, naposletku – sam život.

 Ipak, u Americi postoji spasonosna genska terapija koja može da zaustavi ovaj košmar. Naša jedina šansa u ovom trenutku jeste da finansiramo njihov ulazak u kliničku studiju. Moja deca nemaju vremena. Svaki izgubljeni dan nepovratno uništava njihove sposobnosti koje više nikada neće moći da vrate.
