<div>My name is Edna Thamm. I am a teacher, by profession and I have witnessed the magic that happens when a child learns to read. As a volunteer Friend with the Child Peace Initiative in Kenya, I want to share a story that is very close to my heart. It is the story of Noosukuro Primary School in Samburu.

<div>Until recently, our school was a place filled with the sounds of learning and laughter for 80 eager children. Then, the water from Lake Baringo came. It was slow, it was relentless, and it swallowed / submerged the children’s place of learning. Their classrooms, their desks, their books were lost to the water.

<div>As a teacher, I see every single day how education transforms lives. These 80 children have dreams. They dream of becoming doctors, teachers, and engineers. But without a school, their dreams are being replaced by a harsh reality. They now face dangerously long walks to other schools, a journey that often forces them to drop out. Worse, they face the risks of child labor, early marriage, and cattle rustling. We cannot let this be their future.

<div>The community will provide a piece of land which is on higher ground to rebuild the school. Now, we need your help to build upon it.

<div><strong>This is how your donation will create change</strong>:

<div>· Classrooms and Foundation: We will build three solid, weatherproof classrooms on our land.
</div>
<div>· Learning Materials: We will provide books, notebooks, and essential supplies for all 80 children.
</div>
<div>· School Furniture: We will equip the classrooms with desks, benches, and blackboards.
</div>
<div>· Basic Sanitation: We will construct simple washrooms and toilets for the children's health and dignity.
