Two family cars were also destroyed, including a brand‑new vehicle purchased with a JMD 2 million (about USD $13,000) family investment.

<div>Our mother, Sharon, is a dedicated Social Worker with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security in Santa Cruz. She continues to serve as essential personnel — assessing damage, coordinating shelter, and administering grants to other victims of the disaster.
