I still have families there and my husband also has families there. I currently teach and live in Connecticut, USA and today I am reaching out from the depths of my heart for a community dear to me- Springfield in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.

<div>After the recent Hurricane, life in the rural areas like Springfield has become even harder. Roads blocked, crops destroyed, homes destroyed and families are struggling.

<div>In these remote communities, help rarely reaches quickly. Many residents have no means to reach town centers where most relief supplies are distributed. So they wait- sometimes for weeks without water, food or materials to repair their homes.
